Tracy FloydCostume Shop Manager, Theater Emory

Biography

Tracy Floyd (she/her) is both passionate and devoted to her talents. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree at The University of Florida in both Costume Technology and Costume Design. While at UF she was nominated by her peers for a Graduate Student Teaching award and received USITT-SE Design/Tech Expo award in 2013 and was also nominated for the Barbara Matera Award in Costume Making. During her professional and academic career she has proven to be efficient at wearing numerous hats such as draper, tailor, first hand, stitcher, teacher, shop manager, assistant and wig supervisor. She found a love for teaching during her time as a graduate student teaching Beginning Costuming, Introduction to Costumes Lab and a Wig Making Workshop. Tracy has worked both nationally and internationally with theatre, dance and opera companies such as Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet, Utah Shakespeare Festival, New York Stage and Film, Seaside Music Theatre, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Arkansas Repertory Theater, Chicago Opera Theater, Des Moines Metro Opera and Steppenwolf Theatre Co. Tracy received her Bachelor's of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina Greensboro located in her home state. She is a driven and extraordinary artist who focuses her devotion not only on her own craft but also on helping her students and colleagues to produce the best work possible. Tracy moved to Atlanta and has been recently working on TV & Film productions such as WandaVision, The Tomorrow Wars, Secret Headquarters, Heels Season 1 & 2, Werewolf by Night, Reptile and Project Artemis.
