Theater at Emory unites faculty and student research, integrating classroom and laboratory, to entertain and engage multiple communities. Theater at Emory encompasses the Theater Studies Program, Theater Emory, the Playwriting Center, and Student Theater.

Visiting Assistant Professor, Technical Direction and Stagecraft Instructor

The Department of Theater and Dance, including Theater Emory, invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professorship in the area of Stagecraft and Technical. This 10-month appointment begins no later than August 15th, 2022, with the potential for renewal to a second year. The position splits duties between teaching, student mentorship, and serving as Technical Director (TD) for Theater Emory’s 4-show season and other activities associated with departmental projects, student group shows, university, and other programs.  THEA130: Stagecraft is a 4-credit class including lab hours: “A theoretical and practical initiation to technical theater. Practical assignments will be oriented toward mounting productions staged by Theater Emory.”
