Facilities

Theater at Emory has access to a rich variety of rehearsal and performance spaces. Students enrolled in theater classes, Theater Emory, and Student Theater Groups are welcome to take advantage of these spaces to further their theater exploration, rehearse and produce shows.

Rich Memorial Building

  • Rich 205: Rehearse scenes during acting class in this unique room with a performance pit.
  • Rich 210: Make discoveries during Movement or Voice & Diction in our open rehearsal space with a mirrored wall.
  • Script library: Dive into a new script or borrow a monologue book from our script library in the back hallway of the Rich building. We are actively working to expand our library with modern works and works written by women and people of color.

Schwartz Center for Performing Arts

  • Schwartz Lab 203: Perform in plays or have your works performed in readings in our classic black-box laboratory.
  • Schwartz Design Classroom: Further your interest in costume or scenic design in this classroom.

Mary Gray Munroe Theater

Learn hands-on stagecraft, make-up, design, and costuming skills at the MGM workshop spaces. Theater at Emory mounts productions in this distinctive 100-200 seat black-box studio.

Burlington Road Building

BRB 117: Get involved with student theater or other theater projects who commonly perform in our Burlington Road Building black box space.

Student Lounges

Theater students can enjoy studying, meeting up with friends, having a meal in between classes, or grabbing some downtime in one of our student lounges. We have a newly renovated student lounge in the Rich Memorial Building and another on the 2nd floor of the Schwartz Center outside the design classroom.
